Thank you for visiting Champions For Agriculture

Domino's Takes a Stand

Champions For Agriculture salutes the shareholders of Domino's for refusing to be pressured into a resolution that puts America's pork farmers in a bad light and, ultimately, will raise food prices for everyone.

Farmers work hard to ensure the well-being of the animals in their care and people who work for them. We believe activist groups, representing a small percentage of the population, are bullying retail brands to further their own political aspirations and fund-raising goals.

We are encouraged to see Domino's taking a rational, science-based stand on the issue. Thank you, Domino's, for being Champions For Agriculture!

But we can’t stop there! Please help Champions For Agriculture go a step further by showing Domino’s our support for their decision and getting out in front of other situations with retailers currently considering their stand on the issues, including McDonald’s.

Visit our “Domino’s Activation” page, where you’ll find links and resources to reach out to Domino’s in support of their courageous action, links to post comments on McDonald’s website and helpful hints for how to talk about the subject with your family and friends.

Margaret Mead famously said: “A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”

Champions For Agriculture is a small group that – with the help of those who believe as we do that agriculture is an honorable endeavor –will have an impact.

Promoting the Positive for Modern Agriculture

Champions For Agriculture is a membership organization devoted to providing positive information about modern agriculture to consumers.

Champions For Agriculture gathers factual information to give consumers a clear picture of how today's farmers produce food, fuel and fiber.

We believe agriculture is an honorable endeavor and invite other supporters of farming and the agriculture industry to join us in promoting the positive by becoming Champions For Agriculture members.

Mission

To promote positive, fact-based knowledge and improve perceptions of agriculture as an honorable endeavor that provides food, fuel and fiber for a growing world.

Vision

To be recognized and respected by both consumers and farmers as the standard for accurate, factual and truthful knowledge about the many forms of modern agriculture and its essential role in sustaining and enhancing life.

We believe: It is important to consumers and to farmers that food, fuel and fiber are produced in a socially responsible manner

10 Core Beliefs

We believe: Freedom of choice is being compromised by radicals with extreme political agendas

We believe: Spreading misinformation and distorted images intended to emotionally manipulate consumers for political gain is unacceptable and must be exposed as propaganda

We believe: That in the absence of truthful information about modern agriculture, consumers can believe only the stories and pictures to which they are exposed

We believe: That to reduce vulnerability to inaccurate radical propaganda, consumers must be introduced to information about agriculture that is clear, accessible and relevant to their everyday lives

We believe: The work of promoting positive, truthful information about modern agriculture is important and benefits consumers, retailers, processors and farmers

We are Champions

Champions For Agriculture is a group of professional communicators and ag supporters on a mission to help farmers and others share the story of agriculture confidently and with a unified voice.

Our goal is to organize a strong, farm-level grassroots movement -- every-day people like ourselves -- and provide the knowledge, skills and outreach opportunities for them to play a main role in creating a new, proactive conversation with consumers and retailers.

There are many organizations working diligently right now to restore trust in agriculture. To that we say, "Amen, sisters and brothers!" Your work is valuable and much-needed. We want to make it even more accessible to the farmers and supporters who can carry it forward. For an example, visit our Domino's Activation page where we've posted ways to show support of their decision as well as links to McDonald's where they can proactively share their voices.

As Champions For Agriculture grows in both membership and strength, we'll be analyzing and sharing our insight on situations impacting agriculture; providing tools for Champions members to reach out effectively; message training that will enable us to speak out with a confident, unified voice; and much more.

Please visit often and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Please join in the conversation.
